Introduction
Congratulations!!
You have just been hired as the new Human Resources Manager

Several international businessmen are willing to invest in your organization called Pharmax. They are going to invest a lot of money in a new international project. You will be responible of interviewing the new applicants for the IT sector.
In this WebQuest you need to select the best candidate for the position and interview them. In your final presentation add: Different interview questions you will ask your applicants and the reason why you choose that applicant.

The aims of this webquest are:
1. to encourage learners to use new vocabulary about human resources and marketing
2. to practice writing skills
3. to practice oral presentation skills
4. to encourage learners to use internet resources to develop their language knowledge

Let´s begin by understanding some general concepts.
Discuss the words 'employer' and 'applicant' orally. List which of the following words would be more likely to be used by an 'employer' , an 'applicant' or both during a job interview.

Your organization is looking for their branch in South America a qualified and motivated IT LINUX Systems Engineer. Ideally the desired candidate will have at least 3-5 years experience in administering IT systems which he/she has gained through working in an international company.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Daily administration of the Linux servers and clients in heterogeneous network environment with MS windows 2003 servers and XP Clients
- Administration and troubleshoot firewalls, VPN and DNS servers for our main office and all of our rig sites
- Participate complex administration tasks such as security audits, software patching/upgrades, performance tuning and quality assurance
- System performance monitoring, integration and hardware diagnostics
- Ensure current backups of all network-attached Linux and Windows hosts
Preferable candidate will have:
- A Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in Linux administration
Operational experience with Sun Enterprise hardware and storage systems
- Experience with backup management software
Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP, RPC, NIS and NFS is a plus
- NFS and generally troubleshooting and problem-solving experience required

What is a Voicethread?
According to Voicethread.com, a VoiceThread is an online interactive media album that can hold essentially any type of media (images, documents, audio, videos), which allows people tocollaborate while making comments in 5 different ways — using voice (with a microphone or calling in by telephone), text, inserting audio files (mp3), or video (with a web camera) — and share them with anyone they wish. In your voicethread you must add your final comments.

Now that you have completed the Tasks, go to the Evaluation stage.

It is now time to evaluate your work on this WebQuest. Write a short composition in English of about 80 - 90 words answering these questions:
1) What did I learn about the topic researched?
2) How interesting and useful was this WebQuest?
